Have your say on the priorities for public sector spending to support regional growth

26th Oct 2010

As the East of England Development Agency slowly winds down, and the new South Midlands Local Enterprise Partnership prepares to fill the void in the Bedford and Milton Keynes area, businesses have the opportunity to have their say at the Cranfield Business and Enterprise Summit on 17 November.

The Government's Spending Review has revealed that the Regional Growth Fund, supporting investment in infrastructure that underpins economic growth, is to be extended to three years and is increased in size to 1.4 billion. Allocations following the first round of bids will be announced before the end of 2010-11. Bids for funding will be made by the private sector and Local Enterprise Partnerships and will "play a pivotal role in helping rebalance the economy towards the private sector."

A Business and Enterprise Summit at Cranfield Innovation Centre on Wednesday 17 November will give businesses an important chance to have their say on Regional Growth Fund priorities for South East Midlands Local Enterprise Partnership and other actions to support enterprise, innovation and inward investment.

Further details of the programme and venue will be available shortly at (www.southeastmidlands.org.uk).
