Tenants at i-lab get together!

Part of being at Bedford i-lab is making the most of the community of like-minded entrepreneurs growing their businesses, to solve challenges, explore new ideas, meet new people...and boldy go where no one has gone before! :-)

This takes place all the time informally at the coffee-bars and through open access to contact info, but also through a more structured approach across the building to help create and support a diverse and complex web of referals and contact sharing.
One such recent event was a more light-hearted gathering whereby friends from Full House Theatre company helped generate the "neighbourly" feel by coming in character and breaking the ice.

Over 30 businesses were represented and most (a few escaped!) joined in with a taster of a free i-lab tenant event that will be held in November to improve vocal skills.

A key component in negotiation, networking and more formal business presentations to clients, funders etc. is the ability to be confident and articulate so good posture, breathing and speaking technique, as practised by actors, seems like a good idea; we like to be different at i-lab!

Tenants also got to hear about another 1/2 day seminar being organised by Keith Purdie, Business Development Officer at i-lab, in association with Business Link, entitled "Increasing Sales in an Economic Downturn" another way in which we aim to be one step ahead...
